If I sounded like any songstress, it would be Roberta Flack. In my mind, that is.
The song, Killing Me Softly, was performed by Roberta Flack before a live audience prior to recording. It was at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles, California, while on tour with Quincy Jones. The audience wanted an encore and Quincy says, “Ro, do something.”
Roberta tells Quincy she’s been working on a song and commences to sing it. The crowd screams wildly at the end. Quincy then tells her, “I don’t want you singing this song again before you record it.” The rest is history, folks.
Quote of the day…”Love doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to be true.“
One of my favorite songs. Incredible drawing!!!
