“Your paintings look like you,” someone told me. A few have informed me, actually. I don’t know how I manage that. My current sketchbook, which I’ve titled, From the Musical Sketchbook, has a number of musicians I’ve drawn that clearly don’t resemble me.
The girl in the short is a fictional character based on a painting I composed, who was inspired by real events.
These animations are my latest obsession. I’m currently on pause in making my first short film and as I looked at the little girl in this short, she has a lot of me in her for sure.
I found my older self in a vintage photograph on Instagram about 3 years ago. Not in the family photo album but on Instagram, I said. How could this be? Am I her now?
You know what?…Don’t you just love when your brain takes a deep dive and complicates your life with things to do? I shouldn’t be thinking of drawing this woman to add into the film. The drawings are done already! Siiiigh. She, or rather I, must be in this film now. God, help me.
Quote of the day…“Life always offers you a second chance, it’s called tomorrow.“
