Back to Basics

I like the idea of drawing again. As a self-taught painter, it feels good going back to my roots. My mom thought I was so great when I took to drawing in high school. Heck, I thought I was great too. I was far from it. I mean, far!

I’m working toward a series of vinyl records, about waist high for my show in October. I’m 5’4″ and my deadline is shorter than that. Mercy!Β  With those, I’ll have to drop my charcoals and pick up the brushes again. I don’t know that I’ll be at the show just yet. Undecided. I could use the getaway time, for sure.

At bedtime, I work on these b-ball drawings because I juggle multiple projects, which I’m excited about. Very! They are larger than the sketchbook, at 18×24.

I used to watch the games a LOT back in the day, right along with baseball and boxing. Not so much boxing anymore. I know there’s heavy training and strategy  involved but it seems a kinda stupid sport. Barbaric, even. Who came up with two men getting inside a square and bopping each upside the head?

Anyhow!

Be well and most of all, be best. πŸ˜‰

  1. I used to watch a lot of basketball then I figured out that if they would just give both teams 100 points and let them play the final two minutes it would be just as exciting. That’s just me though, these days I watch ice hockey.
