If music ain’t in you, I’m not altogether sure what you’re made of or how you’re making out in life. I imagine folk like that don’t drink much water either. Just out here winging it.
In the music industry, you wield a certain amount of power. I’m highly amused to see playbacks of live Michael Jackson concerts and fans are screaming wildly. They’re passing out! Okay?! And I mean straight men too. To look back on this good, I’d be weirded out if my man passed out for another man. Soon as he came to, I’d drop him like a hot rock. Out here passing out on me and whatnot.
I have great respect for the music dynasty Joe Jackson created for his family. Disregard what his kids said about abuse. They let folk get in their ear and turned on their daddy. They really did. Had it not been for Joe, there’d be no 2300 Jackson Street. You see the size of that house?

Yeah, he cheated and raised his hands at his kids but I guarantee you, they weren’t the kind of kids you see in schools now. If I were a youngun and Joe Jackson looked at me, I’d have pulled myself all the way together. I’m not saying whipping your kid is right. I disagree with it but I didn’t birth a baseball team either. Okay?! Yeah, some things could’ve been done different and better. That’ll always be the case. We all have to wear our own shoes. You feel me? One time I ate a whole box of Krispy Kreme Donuts. Now, I don’t do those sorta things. You get where I’m going?
The Jackson siblings attest that Tito was more like the father of the group. He got them in line when they drifted and that’s natural being an older sibling. I deeply respect that. I respect any family that lay down rules their kids can follow and have them look decent in public.
And I say that to send love to Tito and the Jackson clan, after losing him. I feel like we grew up side by side, so my hats off to them marking their place in music history.
The way I laughed so hard at this should be a crime!

Cuz BAYBAY, how are you making it without music? Especially nowadays?! 🤣😂😆

As my mom say, better out than in. And she meant that in every way.
But yeah, don’t get caught being thirsty. Any way you view it, it’s a good idea to stay hydrated. You feel me?
Music is everything except money. 😌

As a fan of the Jackson 5 and a huge admirer of Michael Jackson, I really appreciate this post. I agree—Joe Jackson was the type of parent common for that time. Parents back then were strict, but their children respected them. Maybe that’s something we’re missing today—the sense of fear and respect for our elders, parents, and adults.

I understand this well, being an art teacher. Yes, parenting styles look much different now. Kids knew boundaries back then. Somewhere along the way, it changed.

It amazes me when I see situations where kids yell at their parents, and the parents end up apologizing or staying silent. The idea of children talking back or being disrespectful without consequences leaves me shocked. Even as an adult, I would never have dared to think about disrespecting my father. We need to bring back the values of the past.

I agree. It’s sad and hard to watch. I knew my mom’s footsteps. 😆 I had not better be anywhere sassing an adult, embarrassing her.
