Liquid Soap

I’ve been holding on to this for some time and I need to get it outta my throat. I’m a strong observer of people and time. Fortunate for me but perhaps not so fortunate for other folk.

Based on my observations, it appears that folk who buy liquid soap somehow think they’re superior to folk who buy bar soap.

Look!

Call it petty but I need to call it as I see it. If you were born in the 80s and prior, your behind grew up on bar soap. Okay? You weren’t thinking to squirt anything from a bottle to lather up. Tell me I’m lying but you can’t.

Now that you’re making your own coins, you’re too good for bar soap! How did we get here? Yeah, I know the commercials turned you on but it’s the haughtiness for me. And there’s always an excuse as to why bar soap just doesn’t cut it anymore. It was certainly ideal to use to get that outdoors odor off your behind.

As a country or wherever you are in the world, we are far worse for using liquid soap on account of the plastics. It actually makes you lesser, being insensitive to the environment and all. Remember when laundry soap was just powder too? It’s not cutting the mustard for you anymore either, huh. And you know who’s REALLY high faluting? Those who purchase even more plastic with the pods in them. And my thought is Well, just look at your environmentally unconscious self with your little pods and whatnot.

Looka here now!

The only folk who really benefit from liquid soap are inmates. That’s right! See, if you’re not careful, your mind gets hijacked with attractive advertising. Now you have to check the ingredients in your clothing ‘cause you can best believe they’ve found ways to use this plastic we can’t seem to live without.

I, for one, hated the powdered laundry detergent and was SO happy when liquid laundry detergent came about. 🤣😂😆

I use both bar and liquid soap, but I’ll be honest. I’m more partial to the bar soaps than any liquid, so I buy more of them. And I love them. And yes, I grew up on them, of course.

Liquid has its advantages, but I’m DEF not high and mighty because I use it. Folks need to take several seats. Lol.

    • Powder is bad for septic systems, which I have. I buy the liquid in that case. Do they even make powder detergent anymore?

I like that Dr. Bronner peppermint soap. Comes in liquid and bar. The bar isn’t as strong as the liquid. Sure wish I could make it but I don’t need to add that to my to-do list.

      • And that’s the brand I use; liquid and bars. Dr. Bronner is the best! The castille soap really helps my skin; keeps me from itching as much as I do with other soaps. Staves off dry skin much better, too.

But I moisturize with coconut oil, so that helps, as well.

I have not seen any powdered laundry detergents in years!

      • I bought another brand called Bamboo and Birch. Not as solid as Dr Bronner but it did okay. I use castor oil as moisturizer. After the peppermint soap, oil and fuzzy pjs, I feel like I’ve had spa treatment. Right now, I’m stuck with Ivory Soap. 😭
